The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, the Reverend Gordon Blue of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Representative Ortiz moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer: Heavenly Father, you know how we live in our stories: the stories in our hearts are brighter in our thoughts than the sun as it rises in the morning. For this reason, you promised to place your love in the hearts of your people and the blessing of your truth within those who wish to receive it. You made us so that we may choose to hear and see you. We remember with gratitude the words of the Psalm: Give thanks to the LORD and call upon his Name; make known his deeds among the peoples. Glory in his holy Name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice. (Psalm 105:1, 3) Give the blessing of joy to this House of Representatives for Alaska. Enlighten the hearts of these women and men with the 2018-04-04 House Journal Page 2990 light of wisdom that the exercise of their duties may bring blessing to the people. Give them hope, wisdom, and courage to fulfill our obligations, bless them as they act for the common good, and guide them to teach the people the story of a Great Land wisely led. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Tarr. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 77th and 78th legislative days be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
