Representative Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent that the following member be excused from a call of the House. There being no objection, the member was excused as noted: Representative Knopp - from 11:30 a.m., today to 10:00 p.m., April 1 The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Nathan Stearman of Juneau Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Representative Ortiz moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. In deepest respect for religious freedom, and humble acknowledgement of the varied religious convictions of each one present, I invite you to pause for a time of quiet reflection and prayer, as I offer a prayer. Dear God, I imagine most of those present today would much rather be doing something else. There's a lot of hard work to do and the only reason these folks are gathered is because the business that needs to be done simply could not be accomplished in the intended timeframe. They are in need of much wisdom-I am asking this morning that you would give that to them. The ancient, yet wise King Solomon and the 2018-03-27 House Journal Page 2896 Babylonian lawmaker, Daniel, both received the benefit of your guidance. Such is needed again today. I'm asking you for it on their behalf. Thanks! Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Spohnholz. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 70th legislative day be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk. There being no objection, it was so ordered.
