With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for today. Thank you for your promise that where two or three are gathered you are there among them. Lord, we welcome you today and celebrate the gift of life that you have given upon each of us. We meet to serve our community, to use our resources wisely and well, to represent all members of our community fairly, to make decisions that promote the common good. We recognize our responsibility to the past and the future and the rights and needs of both individuals and community. As trusted servants, we seek blessings on our decisions. On our efforts here today, may we act wisely. Protect us from confusion. 2017-11-03 House Journal Page 1836 Bless our work and our time. Guide our steps and our progress. Grant us the power of your Holy Spirit to work together because it is impossible to see past our human stubbornness without you. We ask that you would open our ears so that we may hear your voice.
