Representative Knopp had been excused from a call of the House today. Representative Gara was absent and his presence was noted later. Representative Wilson was absent. Representative Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent that the following members be excused from a call of the House. There being no objection, the members were excused as noted: Representative Birch - from today to 10:00 a.m., October 30 Representative Johnston - from today to 10:00 a.m., October 30 Representative Wool - today The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Representative Johnson. Representative Westlake moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. With the deepest respect for all religions, I offer the following prayer. 2017-10-27 House Journal Page 1814 Dear God, we stand together in your presence today, reminded that we are but your instruments on this earth. Guide us in the prosecution of our duties, grant us the foresight and wisdom to complete our appointed endeavors, and above all, imbue us with your grace so that we may be reflective in thought, uplifting in spirit, and patient in word and deed. We also ask that you bless the community that is this Chamber as it addresses the issues that will affect your people that call Alaska home. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Talerico. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Tuck moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the first, second, third, and fourth legislative days of the fourth special session be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk. There being no objection, it was so ordered.
