With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer. Creator God, you have bestowed upon the peoples of this state an immense bounty of resources. Guide our leaders who shape laws and policies that we may treat your gifts with reverence, sharing them to the benefit of all your creatures, and remembering those who will come after us. Give us the gifts of charity, equity, and justice that none of your people may suffer with want, and that none may exploit your bounty by greed or corruption. Help us to remember that we are not owners of your gifts but are stewards, and we will be 2017-02-10 House Journal Page 0222 accountable to you for how we use them. We pray this by all the names by which you are known to us. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Johnson.
