If Roses Grow in Heaven If roses grow in Heaven, Lord Please pick a bunch for me. Place them in my Father's arms and tell him they're from me. Tell him that I love and miss him very much here on earth and when he turns to smile, Place a kiss upon his cheek and hold him for me in my place for a while. Because remembering him is easy, I do it every day. But there is an ache within my heart that will never go away. Dear Lord, Please hold all of our parents in your arms as we work hard in the final days of session. We miss them. We miss their strength, their words of wisdom and 2016-04-16 Senate Journal Page 2548 their unconditional love. We thank you for their passage from this physical world into yours. We know they are in a better place with you, but we still miss them. So, we pray for us as well, in our humble life here on this earth and the ability to mourn their passing knowing they are with you in a better place. In your name I pray for the next time we get to meet them. Amen. Senator Bishop led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
