The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Stoltze. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. The prayer with the distinction of being the shortest, most succinct was offered by the late Danny Plotnick, whose prayer consisted of one word - four letters - "Help." Although that succinct plea that comprised the prayer many years ago is still relevant, and timely, the prayer I offer will be slightly longer. Please join as we pray. Lord, please give us the strength and fortitude to make the difficult decisions facing us. As our judgment, values, and convictions guide us to our decisions, please grant us tolerance and patience with those whose views may differ from our own. Grant us the ability to pursue our convictions with grace, dignity, and respect for our fellow man. 2015-04-26 Senate Journal Page 1190 Give us the strength to demonstrate our best virtues, our best selves, as we strive to represent our respective values. I offer this prayer through Jesus Christ, my Lord. Amen. Senator Kelly led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
