There being no objection, it was so ordered. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Tom Matthews of Douglas Island Bible Church. Respecting the fact that there are diverse religious beliefs represented here today, I appreciate the invitation to open your session with a word of prayer. Dear Lord, I come before you to lift this prayer on behalf of the many representatives who are standing here today. I lift not only these representatives before you, but I lift their aides as well and anyone else who is involved in the process of legislation during this session. By this point, the newness of the session is long gone, business that has been left undone at 2016-03-28 House Journal Page 1956 home is beginning to mount and families are being missed dearly. May your grace strengthen them in their time of need. I ask that you would help them in their role as state representatives. Decisions need to be made and budgets need to be put in place that impact so many people. I am sure at times it seems quite daunting. In his letter to the Galatians, the Apostle Paul talked about persevering to the end. I would ask you today Lord, to encourage each person here with this verse: And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9) I lift this verse in the name of my Risen Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Seaton. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Millett moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 67th, 68th, and 69th legislative days be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk. There being no objection, it was so ordered.
