The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Coghill. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Almighty God, you have gifted us with breath and life today. We pause this moment to reflect and pray. First we are grateful to serve our people, and we are grateful to serve with each other in the business of this state. We see things differently and represent diverse areas that have needs that are unique. So we pray for strength to stand up for our people while respecting the people in other places around this state. We reflect on the friendships we enter when brought to this legislative arena. We thank you for friendship; we enjoy our time together and pray for those who have hurts in their lives. Help us to be quick to mend when we offend, and help us to be ready to mend when offended. We know that the policy calls we make have a huge impact on the people working in this state, so we pray for wisdom to make the best decisions we can. Even 2013-04-08 Senate Journal Page 1034 with our strong and different views we ask for insight and clarity while the pressure mounts the last few days of this session. We are aware that many other large and dramatic events are happening all around the world and in our country so we pray for our Governor, our President and other world leaders for the same kind of direction we seek. And now as we enter the business of the day, we look forward to the moving of your Spirit in our lives during our deliberations. We serve with gratitude, and seek your divine guidance. I pray in the name Jesus Christ the Lord. Amen. Senator Ellis led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the eighty-second and eighty-third legislative days be approved as certified by the Secretary.
