With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank you for this day, for every day is a gift from your hand and you are the giver of all good gifts. Thank you for your great love, beauty, and creativity that we see displayed around us so powerfully through your amazing creation. As residents of this great country and this great state, I thank you for the many blessings that we enjoy. May we never take them for granted. I also thank you for being a relational God who gave so much so that we may have a relationship with you and each other. Through faith in you, may we make the most of a love relationship with you and pass that onto our families, our co- workers, and our fellow Alaskans each day. 2014-04-03 House Journal Page 2160 May each of these state representatives and their staff look to you daily to finish the legislative season in excellent fashion and continue to work for the common good of all Alaskans with compassion, cooperation, and integrity. As well, I pray that you will protect their families while they are here serving their state. We also thank you and pray for protection of the military and first responders that protect and care for citizens of this state and this country. Please touch their lives in a very real way. As the Psalmist states, O, taste and see that the Lord is good. Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. Lord, I thank you that your faithfulness is great. Your mercies are new every day for those who place their faith in you. May we know you and live for your glory. I pray this prayer in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ, my Lord, Amen.
