Representative Drummond had been excused from a call of the House today. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, the Reverend Dr. Douglas Dye of Chapel by the Lake Presbyterian Church. Representative P. Wilson moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. In the Book of Psalms, the ancient Hebrew poet cries out: This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. O great God, our creator and the one who loves us infinitely, we pray that you will help us to heed the call of the Psalmist and rejoice and be glad in this day - this day that you have created and given to us. Give these dedicated public servants - women and men who seek to serve our common good - strength and energy for the tasks of this day.
