Representatives Costello, Drummond, Edgmon, Feige, Herron, Higgins, Isaacson, LeDoux, Nageak, Saddler, and Thompson had been excused from a call of the House today. Representative Seaton was absent and his presence was noted later. Representative Kawasaki was absent and later excused (page 1800). Representative Pruitt moved and asked unanimous consent that Representative Millett be excused from a call of the House today. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Tom Matthews of Douglas Island Bible Church. Representative P. Wilson moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Respecting the fact that there are diverse religious beliefs represented here today, I appreciate the invitation to open your session with a word of prayer. Dear Lord, My heart resounds with the words of the Psalmist: This is the day that the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. I rejoice and praise you for another day in my own life that can be used for your glory. 2014-03-06 House Journal Page 1794 Lord, may this day accomplish great things in the House of Representatives. May these representatives find ways to make good use of their time and get the tasks accomplished that they have committed themselves to. For those who are traveling home this weekend, I pray for safety in their flights, and for a wonderful time with their families and friends, and for the ability to catch up with the needs of their districts. I pray that they would come back refreshed and ready to once again take up their individual legislative tasks. Thank you for the privilege you have given me to bring them before the throne of grace this week. I lift this prayer in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.
