Pursuant to adjournment the House was called to order by Speaker                                                                
Chenault at 10:41 a.m.                                                                                                          
                                                                                                                                
Roll call showed 34 members present.  Representative Guttenberg had                                                             
been excused from a call of the House today.  Representatives                                                                   
Edgmon, Gruenberg, Tarr, and P. Wilson were absent and their                                                                    
presence was noted later.                                                                                                       
                                                                                                                                
Representative Pruitt moved and asked unanimous consent that                                                                    
Representative Nageak be excused from a call of the House today.

          On this day, the 33 wedding anniversary with my wife                                                                 
    Margaret, I share these words of thankfulness.                                                                              
                                                                                                                                
    All of us will share our lives with loved ones.  But nearly all                                                            
    of us will miss out on life's so-called big prizes like leading

    your team to win the Super Bowl; being nominated for the                                                                    
    Nobel Peace Prize; buying that multi-million dollar lottery                                                                 
    ticket.  And regardless of recent action scenes that we were                                                                
    witness to in this room, there will be no Oscars given out for                                                              
    those most memorable performances.                                                                                          
                                                                                                                                
    However, all of us can appreciate life's small delights:  a pat                                                             
    on the back, a kiss on the cheek, a hug from your grandchild,                                                               
    a salmon in the net, a full moon, a crackling fire, a cold pale                                                             
    ale, and, of course, the one enjoyment that always is                                                                       
    entertaining - working with 39 other Alaskans in this                                                                       
    Chamber.  So don't fret, don't mither about reaching life's                                                                 
    well-known prizes.  Enjoy life's everyday rewards as there is                                                               
    abundance.  Amen.
