Representatives Edgmon and Herron had been excused from a call of the House today. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Tari Stage-Harvey of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Respecting the beliefs of all Alaskans, we give thanks for these public servants and for this amazing state where we live. As we gather today in this state where suicide, addictions, mental illness and domestic violence rob so many of hope; as we gather in this state blessed with so many resources and amazing people; as we gather today with so many divisions and uncharitable thoughts of one another, we pray that where hearts are fearful and constricted, you grant courage and hope. Where anxiety is infectious and widening, grant peace and reassurance. Where impossibilities close every door and window, grant imagination and resistance. Where spirits are daunted and weakened, grant soaring wings and strengthened dreams. Let your spirit flow in these faithful people so your will for mercy and justice may become our will. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Higgins. 2013-03-20 House Journal Page 0578 CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Pruitt moved and asked unanimous consent that the rdth journal for the 63 and 64 legislative days be approved as certified by the Assistant Chief Clerk.
