With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following inspirational thoughts. "Commitment" by Dorothy Day: People say, what is the sense of our small effort. They cannot see that we must lay one brick at a time, take one step at a time. A pebble cast into a pond causes ripples that spread in all directions. Each one of our thoughts, words, and deeds is like that. No one has the right to sit down and feel hopeless. There's too much work to do. And by Margaret Mead: Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world; indeed it's the only thing that ever has. 2013-03-05 House Journal Page 0452 The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Kerttula.
