The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, David Dierdorff, Unitarian Universalist Lay Leader. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Spirit of Life, known by many names yet by no name fully known, we turn our minds and hearts again toward thee. I feel you moving among us here. Bless us with your presence. For we are in need: …in need of strength and courage. Our road is filled with rocks, with boulders strewn, boulders so high we sometimes wonder whether we can climb them. …in need of comfort and encouragement. We long for a cooling hand upon the forehead, your still voice whispering in our hearts, "It's all right now…" …in need of cheerleading. When we see what is to be done for others, for our lovely earth, for those we love, we would hear your voice shouting at us to get moving. 2012-03-16 Senate Journal Page 1850 Let us realize that this Spirit of encouragement, comfort and love is within ourselves. We are the instruments of the Good that abounds. May we feel the Spirit and carry it with us all our days. So be it. Amen. (Reverend Judith Quarles) Senator Hoffman led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Meyer moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the fifty-eighth and fifty-ninth legislative days be approved as certified by the Secretary.
