The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Father Simeon B. Johnson of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. O Lord our God, who created all things, I ask you to come and bless this Senate. Help them with wisdom and understanding as they do the work of the people.
