The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, The Reverend Dr. Frances A. Williams of the Leake Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Galileo Galilei once said, "All truths are easy to understand once they are discovered, the point is to discover them." Father, in the midst of the trials of life may the problem at hand not be the single focus at hand. Give us godly understanding and patient endurance. May understanding become one of the primary focuses in fulfilling the tasks that we are faced with daily. I pray that we all be a voice of hope and comfort, logic and reason, understanding and patience that we will forever be echoed in the halls of society on every community level. Amen.
