Senator Stedman was absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Nancy Campbell of Gospel Outreach Christian Center. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Heavenly Father, let your grace be upon this Senate body. As they near the end of session, lift any stress from their shoulders. Highlight the issues they need to focus on and help them bring these to conclusion. I pray from Matthew 11:28 - "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, I will give you rest." Give them your rest, Lord. From Psalms 121 - "I will lift up my eyes to the hills, from whence comes my help. My help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. He will not allow your foot to be moved; he that keepeth thee will not slumber. The Lord is your keeper. The Lord is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve your going out and your coming in." I invoke your blessing upon them this day. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen. 2011-03-16 Senate Journal Page 0518 Senator Hoffman led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
