Senators Coghill, Huggins, Stedman were excused from a call of the Senate. Senators McGuire, Olson were absent. Senator Meyer moved and asked unanimous consent that Senator Olson be excused from a call of the Senate today. Without objection, Senator Olson was excused. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Dr. Paul Beran, Pastor Emeritus of Resurrection Lutheran Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Gracious Father, before you I bow. You are from everlasting to everlasting. Our times are like melting footprints in the springtime snow. Through ages long you have buried the valued resources of oil and gas deep in the earth. Help us to be faithful stewards of their use as senators of this great state. Give us wisdom, give us integrity, give us diligence as we seek to fulfill this weighty responsibility.
