Full Journal pdf2011-01-21 Senate Journal Page 0059 SENATE JOURNAL ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE TWENTY-SEVENTH LEGISLATURE FIRST SESSION Juneau, Alaska Friday January 21, 2011 Fourth Day Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President Stevens at 10:01 a.m. The roll showed sixteen members present. Senators Giessel, Huggins, Kookesh, McGuire were excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, The Reverend Bob Stevens of St. Brendan's Episcopal Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Heavenly God, Creator God, I thank you for this day. Help us all make a difference today in someone's life, by what we say or what we do. I pray Lord that you protect all the members here today from any concerns that keep their minds from the important decisions they may make. May you bless them with your peace. Bless our families and keep them safe and for those that travel this weekend keep them safe and may they return rested. Help us remember those in need, the homeless, the hungry, and all those with limitations. I pray that we honor the gifts you have given us. I thank you Lord for the good work this body does and may they all be blessed as I have by the abundance Alaska offers us and by the wonderful people we share this land with. Certification Senator Meyer moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the second and third legislative days and Senate and House Joint Journal Supplement No. 1 be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered. Messages from the House Message dated January 19 was read stating: The House of Representatives respectfully invites the Senate to a Joint Session of the Twenty-seventh Alaska Legislature at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 24 for the purpose of hearing U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski's annual message to the Alaska State Legislature. Senator Meyer moved and asked unanimous consent that the Senate accept the House invitation to meet in Joint Session. Without objection, it was so ordered. The Secretary was requested to notify the House.
