With the deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer. So on this day, the nd 32 wedding anniversary with my wife, Margaret, I share this prayer of appreciation. Most of us will likely miss out on life's big prizes like the Pulitzer, the Nobel Peace Prize, that $100 million winning lottery ticket, and even with some of the recent great performances we occasionally see around here, no Oscars either. However, most of us will not miss out on the joy of sharing our lives with a loving spouse and the wonder of the birth of our children. But all of us will be able to enjoy life's little pleasures: a pat on the back ... a kiss on the cheek from a child ... 2012-04-12 House Journal Page 2356 a silver salmon in the net … a full moon … that empty parking space … a crackling fire … a bowl of hot moose soup … a cold pale ale …. And of course, the one pleasure that is priceless-working with 59 other Alaskans. Don't fret or mither about life's grand prizes. Enjoy life's everyday rewards, as there are plenty for all of us. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Dick.
