Pursuant to adjournment the House was called to order by Speaker                                                                
Chenault at 10:32 a.m.                                                                                                          
                                                                                                                                
Roll call showed 30 members present.  Representatives Cissna, Dick,                                                             
Feige, Gatto, Herron, Holmes, Johansen, Lynn, and Millett had been                                                              
excused from a call of the House today.  Representative Hawker was                                                              
absent and his presence was noted later.

  In the spirit of respect, honoring all the diverse beliefs held by                                                           
    the citizens of Alaska, I offer this blessing for you today.

    Great God, called by so many names in so many places, may                                                                   
    these elected leaders find their best selves in their work of                                                               
    service to the people.  May they be open to all the wisdom                                                                  
    that is available to them, from the wisdom of their colleagues                                                              
    to the quiet wisdom whispering in their hearts.  May they                                                                   
    serve, working toward the greater good as they make                                                                         
    important decisions to help build a better future.  May they                                                                
    feel compassion for all the people they serve and know the                                                                  
    equal value of all the Alaskans they represent.  May they find                                                              
    patience when things take longer than expected and may they                                                                 
    find calm when situations feel anxious.  Theirs is holy and                                                                 
    important work.  May they feel blessed as they do the job they
