O Heavenly Father: Today this body of people has assembled for the purpose of governing the people and resources of the great state of Alaska. I ask for your guidance for this assembly of people who have been entrusted with the duties of state. As we follow those who have gone before us, may we be true to the good of our fellow citizens and humble enough to look from another point of view. May we be sober minded, have clarity of purpose, and be honest with ourselves as we look to the business of this day. 2012-01-25 House Journal Page 1404 May we be found with justice, fairness, and concern for others as we deal with delicate issues. May we receive strength, courage, and patience from on high as we go through this day to sustain us on the wings of truth and honor above the strife and conflict of this day. Bless this body today. In the name of Jesus. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Fairclough.
