With consideration for the beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer. Father, we humble ourselves before you as servants of the people of Alaska and as servants of you, and we seek your will on our lives and on this great state. Please grant us the wisdom you have promised to those who ask and the strength that you alone can give. Give us a love for the people we serve and a heart of joy as we move into these busy final days. Pour out a spirit of peace that passes all our understandings and a patience that endures through the most difficult of situations. May we show kindness to each other and may the 2011-04-09 House Journal Page 0864 goodness we possess emanate from our beings. Our faith in each other and in those for which we serve must not wane, and it is with gentleness that we approach each issue. Help us focus our actions to benefit the citizens of our state. We will never understand how great your love for us is. We give ourselves humbly to you for the work you have entrusted to us. Grant us the wisdom to lead and the attitudes of servants. Bless us in all our endeavors, and through all we do may we give you praise. For if you are for us then who can be against us? In your name I pray. Amen.
