Full Journal pdf2010-03-01 Senate Journal Page 1687 SENATE JOURNAL ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE SECOND SESSION Juneau, Alaska Monday March 1, 2010 Forty-second Day Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President Stevens at 11:01 a.m. The roll showed fifteen members present. Senators Bunde, Stedman, Wagoner were excused from a call of the Senate. Senators McGuire, Wielechowski were absent. Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that Senator McGuire be excused from a call of the Senate today. Without objection, Senator McGuire was excused. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Tari Stage-Harvey of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Spirit of life and love, we give you thanks for the leaders gathered here. We pray that you pour out your many blessings upon them. Fill them with a spirit of laughter and joy. Fill them with a spirit of compassion. Fill them with your justice and wisdom. May they guide your people into greater peace and righteousness. Spirit of sorrow and suffering, we lift to you all the struggles of your people gathered here and all sorrows of creation throughout our state, nation and world. Amen. Senator Thomas led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the thirty-ninth through forty-first legislative days be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered. The presence of Senator Wielechowski was noted. Consideration of the Calendar Second Reading of House Bills HB 274 HOUSE BILL NO. 274 "An Act establishing August 7 as Purple Heart Day" was read the second time. Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that the bill be advanced to third reading and placed on final passage. Without objection, it was so ordered.
