Senators Bunde, Dyson, McGuire, Therriault were absent. The seat from District B was vacant. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Tari Stage-Harvey of Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. God of our weary years, God of our silent tears. You have brought us this far along the way. Make us tired today. Tired of children born into cycles of abuse and sorrow that seem unbreakable. Tired of families and communities ripped apart by violence. Tired of so much hunger in a nation of obesity. Make us weary of injustice, apathy, and downright nastiness. Start turning the world by turning our hearts and lives. Make a new reality and life begin with us. May we smile more, listen more, and even cry more with our brothers and sisters. Thank you for your servants here. Pour out your wisdom, grace and joy upon them and all they do. Amen. Senator Davis led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. 2009-04-08 Senate Journal Page 0828 Certification Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the seventy-eighth legislative day and Senate and House Joint Journal Supplement No. 5 be approved as certified by the Secretary.
