Be with their families when they must travel. We thank you for their willingness to serve the citizens of this state. Pour out your support and encouragement upon them. Remind all of us who hold power that it is a trust from you to be used, not for personal glory or profit, but for the service of the people. Drive us from cynicism, selfishness, and arrogance; that we may speak civilly and openly to each other as we seek the greater good for all. Use us the citizens of this state to participate in wise decisions for our common good and to serve our neighbors in our local communities. Guide all discussion, debate, and decisions today. In you I pray, Amen. 2009-04-06 Senate Journal Page 0786 Senator Wielechowski led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
