Full Journal pdf2009-02-02 Senate Journal Page 0123 SENATE JOURNAL ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE TWENTY-SIXTH LEGISLATURE FIRST SESSION Juneau, Alaska Monday February 2, 2009 Fourteenth Day Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President Stevens at 11:00 a.m. The roll showed nineteen members present. Senator Wagoner was excused from a call of the Senate. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Kenneth Chadwick of Glacier Valley Baptist Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Father God, I thank you for the privilege we have of serving you. I thank you for each man and woman who has given their time and talents for the great state of Alaska. I thank you, Father, for their families who have supported them. I thank you for the education they have received. I thank you, Father, for the challenges set before them. I pray that you give them wisdom and understanding in all things. I pray, Father, that they might try their very best to represent the people of the state of Alaska for the greater good. I pray for the economy that we find ourselves in. I pray, Father, for those that are suffering due to job loss. Father, I pray that you will be with them and their families. Amen. Senator French led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the ninth through thirteenth legislative days be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered. Messages from the House Message dated January 29 was read, stating: The House of Representatives respectfully invites the Senate to a Joint Session of the Twenty-sixth Alaska Legislature at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 7 for the purpose of hearing Senator Mark Begich's annual message to the Legislature. Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that the Senate accept the House invitation to meet in Joint Session. Without objection, it was so ordered.
