With deepest respect for the religious beliefs of each person here, I invite you into a time of prayer and reflection. This room, no, this building, is filled with people who love Alaska and who are working hard to make living here even better. Yet today most are anxious. Many bills we think are vital are floundering or dead. The clock is outpacing our hopes because people with equally good intentions have different visions than our own. This is the time to thank our 2010-04-01 House Journal Page 1982 Creator for the diversity of that which was created: the creatures of earth, the seasons, our dispositions, and even that good people can find different solutions than our own. May we gain wisdom in our lives overflowing like a river with understanding. Loved, each of us, for the peace we bring to others. May our deeds exceed our speech and may we never lift our hand but to conquer fear and despair. Rise up like the sun, Creator of peace, over all! Cause light to go forth over all the lands between the seas and light up the universe with joy of wholeness, of freedom, and of peace. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Salmon.
