Senator McGuire was excused from a call of the Senate. Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that Senator Cowdery be excused from a call of the Senate today for medical reasons. Without objection, Senator Cowdery was excused. Senators Bunde, Wilken were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Huggins. Senator Hoffman moved asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Our Most Precious Heavenly Father, We thank thee for bringing us together here. We ask thy blessings on our deeds. We ask forgiveness for our transgressions. And I would ask a very special privilege - that as we look back on this date, 1944, that no matter what side you were on, that we bless those people that gave their life for their country.
