The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Jim Hardenbrook of the Nampa Church of the Brethren. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way. Say to those with fearful hearts, "Be strong, do not fear." Isaiah 35:3 Lord, These ancient words remind us that life is filled with tough times and hard decisions that can lead to feeble hands, weak knees and fearful hearts. I thank You for the struggles of life, including those that are going on here today. It is good for these women and men to struggle, trying to find that which is right and that which is best and that which will work. At this critical time in the Session I pray that these struggles will end in good decisions and that the words said and the tactics used will not destroy relationships or harm reputations. Lord, there will be a time when it is too late to do what needs doing, to say what needs saying. Whatever good these Senators can and need to do, help them do it today. 2007-05-02 Senate Journal Page 1016 As I pray in your name, Amen. Senator Ellis led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
