The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Scott Williamson of Glacier Valley Baptist Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Father, Creator of the heavens and the earth, You are the one who has given our state such abundance. You have endowed our state with beauty and vastness of size. We often are awe- struck by what we see both on the land and in the sea. Thank you for the resources that pour forth from the waters and the earth. Thank you also for the provision of these men and women who are willing to give of themselves in the service of our state. These senators are part of the resources that you give to the people of Alaska. Please give these servants wisdom in protecting, sharing, and managing our state's abundance, so that both Alaskans and others beyond our borders may be blessed. Remind all of us that we hold our abundance as a treasure to share. Help this body be good stewards of all that you have given us; as they make decisions on the use of Alaska's resources, may others give thanks to Alaska and give thanks to You for your abundant provision. 2007-03-26 Senate Journal Page 0654 I pray this in the name Jesus Christ, through whom all things are created.
