Senator Ellis, Acting Majority Leader, moved and asked unanimous consent that the roll call of the Senate be waived and all members be shown as present. Without objection, it was so ordered. The Alaska Children's Choir of Wasilla, directed by Janet Stotts, performed "Alaska's Flag" and "The Star-Spangled Banner." The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, the Reverend Bob Stevens of St. Brendan's Episcopal Church. Senator French led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
