Representatives LeDoux and Samuels had been excused from a call of the House today. Representative Neuman was absent. Representative Coghill, Acting Majority Leader, moved and asked unanimous consent that Representative Joule be excused from a call of the House today. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Representative Coghill. Representative Dahlstrom moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Let us pray. As we bow in reverence before the Almighty and in respect of one another, I offer this prayer. We are always mindful of the privilege of serving our people while remembering our duty: one generation to another. Through our decision making today, I ask the one who knows our hearts and the beginning from the end to help us with wisdom from above. We are struggling with the problem of the wealth of the land and the needs of the people throughout 2008-08-04 House Journal Page 3306 Alaska, and we ask for help in seeing through to a wise solution. As time pressure and personal considerations push upon us, we pause to reflect on our need for divine guidance. Help us be at peace in our spirits as we tackle the work of this day. Thank you.
