In deepest respect for the religious beliefs of each person here, I invite you into a time of prayer and reflection. Let us pray. O God, our Creator, bless the members of this House that come in a spirit of cooperation to make decisions affecting the people of Alaska. Help us to be at peace with ourselves, our colleagues, and those we represent. When we seem far apart on an issue, help us to find a way to the center. We know we cannot be all things to all people, yet we are here to represent everyone. May our decisions be wise for they affect many. This land and the people we represent are all gifts from you. Let us honor those gifts by the actions we take. And may we remember we are always in their sight and your sight.
