Recognizing the many differences in belief that are represented here today, I would ask you to please come and join me in prayer. Lord, I thank you for the power of prayer! I thank you that we can be confident that you are truly interested in the affairs of man, that you are not just a god sitting on the outside and looking in. I thank you for your personal interest and action in our everyday lives. Most of all, Lord, I want to thank you for your mercy and help in time of need. 2008-03-12 House Journal Page 2244 Because of belief in the power of prayer, I lift this prayer today for this body and for their families while they are gone from home. Lord, only you can really know the sacrifices that have been made so each representative can be here. I pray for your help and protection for their families. Help their loved ones to be able to carry on the tasks that are difficult when a key part of their family is away. I would pray that somehow you would bolster their relationships in spite of the miles that may separate them. As this day begins, I would ask once again for your blessing on today's agenda. May much be accomplished with the time that is available. In the name of Jesus Christ, your beloved Son, I lift this prayer today. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Kawasaki. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Samuels moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 57th legislative day be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
