With deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer this prayer. Eternal God, grant to the members of this house, elected by the voice of the people of their districts, competence to do the people's work well this day. Give them the wisdom to discern solutions that will address the issues on their agenda. Give 2007-05-01 House Journal Page 1006 them the capacity to prioritize projects and needs in order that those most important and most critical may be addressed first. Where there are differences in their points of view, may they discover the most satisfactory way to proceed. May they never lose sight of the concerns of all citizens, especially those hidden by distance or circumstance. In the midst of the pressures of time and office, may they find some precious moments to care for themselves and their families. Grant to each a few minutes of peace and quiet to let their souls catch up with their bodies. At the end of this day may each one rest in the joy that comes when their work is well done. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Roses.
