Representative Kerttula had been excused from a call of the House today. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Scott Williamson of Glacier Valley Baptist Church. Representative Meyer moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Recognizing the various faiths that are represented here, I offer this prayer. Dear Father, you who created us in your image, you have shaped each individual here with his and her unique personality. Thank you for their uniqueness and help each one respect their differences as they work together. While each person is different, they are united by love for their state and their country. Use that love for Alaska to guide them as they craft legislation that will affect the future. Thank you for the coming weekend. Some here will continue in committee meetings: guide them in their work. Some will travel over the weekend: protect them as they travel. Give each person an opportunity this weekend for rest and renewal. Help each one to be renewed physically, mentally, and spiritually. 2007-04-20 House Journal Page 0844 I thank you for the students here today. Father, may they come to have a great respect and appreciation for the form of government that we have here in this state and in this country as they watch these proceedings. I pray these things in the name of Jesus who said, "Come unto me and I will give you rest." Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Foster.
