Reveal for us and in us your full and satisfying grace; answer, we pray, the deepest longings of our hearts. Equip us to lead and show us the feebleness of justice founded on legislation alone. Build a wholesome trust among us without which no people can thrive. Teach us to follow wisdom that we may lead with wisdom; help us to resist the temptations of power and counter this 2007-03-29 House Journal Page 0608 world's cynicism with true devotion to fulfilling the responsibilities with which we have been entrusted. And if necessary, even unpower us to become servants. Keep us honest and open to the best ideas of any political party. Make us willing to compromise in behalf of your people, even if by doing so we commit public-image suicide. And if through our leadership we find ourselves in lonely places, strengthen us to remain true and full of compassion and to plant our feet firmly in the ways of peace. For your constant blessings, may we be constantly thankful as we begin this session on this your day. Amen. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Representative Seaton. CERTIFICATION OF THE JOURNAL Representative Samuels moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the 72nd legislative day and House Journal Supplement No. 1 and Senate and House Joint Journal Supplement No. 5 be approved as certified by the Chief Clerk.
