With deepest respect for the religious beliefs of all Alaskans, I offer the following prayer. 2007-01-16 House Journal Page 0002 Almighty God, by whose grace and strength alone we accomplish the greatest good, look with favor upon this House here gathered. Grant to them wisdom, charity, and a deep longing that justice be married to compassion. Bless their families who have given them to us for a season, make not their absence too great a hardship or cause for concern. Bless also all those who serve to support the office of these public servants far from the lights and recognition of the public eye. Make them conscious of their necessity for the good governance of this land, and give those with authority over them grateful hearts. We pray also, O Lord, that bonds of common affection for one another be here forged in a crucible of respect for everyone here present, to outweigh and temper our separate causes and crusades, for the sake of ideas and resources and outcomes which are greater in their union than we could have imagined apart. With gratitude we pray. Amen. Lieutenant Governor Parnell read the following Certificate of Election: CERTIFICATE "I, Whitney H.
