Senators Kookesh, Olson were excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Cowdery, Therriault were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Q Smyth. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Lord, Thank You for Your marvelous creation. Thank You for the mountains and valleys, the rocks and glaciers, the oceans and the rivers. Thank You, Lord, for the life that inhabits this incredible planet and thank You for allowing us to be among it. May You bless us and give us the wisdom to appreciate all that we have. Amen. Senator Davis led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Certification Senator Gary Stevens moved and asked unanimous consent that the journals for the twenty-fifth and twenty-sixth legislative days be approved as certified by the Secretary. Without objection, it was so ordered. 2006-08-07 Senate Journal Page 3722 Messages from the House Message dated August 7 was read, stating the House passed and transmitted for consideration: First Reading and Reference of House Bills HB 3001 CS FOR HOUSE BILL NO. 3001(FIN) BY THE HOUSE FINANCE COMMITTEE, entitled: "An Act relating to the production tax on oil and gas and to conservation surcharges on oil; relating to criminal penalties for violating conditions governing access to and use of confidential information relating to the production tax; amending the definition of 'gas' as that definition applies in the Alaska Stranded Gas Development Act; making conforming amendments; and providing for an effective date." was read the first time and referred to the Special Committee on Natural Gas Development. Consideration of the Calendar Third Reading of Senate Bills SB 3002 CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 3002(NGD) was read the third time. The question being: "Shall CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 3002(NGD) "An Act amending the time allowed under the Alaska Stranded Gas Development Act for the commissioner of revenue to summarize public comments, propose amendments, if any, and make findings and a determination; and providing for an effective date" pass the Senate?"
