Senator Seekins was absent. Senator Gary Stevens moved and asked unanimous consent that Senator Seekins be excused from a call of the Senate today. Without objection, Senator Seekins was excused. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Dan Bollerud of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Lord, when asked which is the greatest commandment, You gave us two: love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind and love your neighbor as yourself. When asked to define neighbor, You told the story of the Good Samaritan. We ask You Lord, that You would be with this body this day and this week as they continue their deliberations. Be with them in the words of Isaiah: to let justice roll down like an ever flowing stream. Let them move from passion to compassion as they create the irrigation system for that stream that defines them within God's definition of neighbor. 2006-05-01 Senate Journal Page 3032 May the Lord bless you and keep you and his face shine upon you and be gracious onto you.
