The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Pastor Mike Rose of the Juneau Christian Center. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Heavenly Father, thank You for this day and the opportunity to rejoice and live this day to its fullest. Thank You that Your mercies are new every morning and for the blessings that You have provided for us. Lord, help us to appropriate Your grace for every situation and circumstance that we encounter. Lord, we pray like Jabez did in the scriptures: Bless us indeed, and enlarge our borders. We pray that Your hand would be upon us and that You would keep us from evil. May we be divinely blessed in a greater measure that we might be a greater blessing to more people. Help us to serve as a conduit of Your love and grace to others. Today, we ask that You give wisdom, guidance and direction to our national and state leaders. Lord, bless the senators and their families, may Your protection and provision be over their lives today. We pray come Your Kingdom, be done Your will on earth as it is in Heaven. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. 2006-04-05 Senate Journal Page 2678 Senator Kookesh led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
