Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, bless the representatives and senators who hold office in our state. Bless the families that they leave behind that they will be safe. Help guide our elected leaders to wise decisions for the general welfare of its citizenry. With Your help guide us to the removal of the barriers that divide that they may crumble, that suspicions disappear, and hatreds cease. Bless our land with honest industry, truthful education and an honorable way of life. Save us from discord and confusion, from pride and arrogance and from everything that tends to divide us. When times are prosperous let our hearts be thankful, and in troubled times do not let our trust in You fail. I ask all this through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. 2005-02-22 Senate Journal Page 0360 Senator Olson led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance.
