Representatives Anderson, Cissna, Croft, Dahlstrom, McGuire, and Samuels had been previously excused from a call of the House today. Representative Coghill moved and asked unanimous consent that Representative Chenault be excused from a call of the House today. There being no objection, it was so ordered. The invocation was offered by the Chaplain, Representative Coghill. Representative Meyer moved and asked unanimous consent that the invocation be spread on the journal. There being no objection, it was so ordered. Almighty God, my heavenly Father, I thank You for this day that You have given us to live and work in this great land of Alaska. We are grateful for the honor of serving our people from all over this state. Help us to show respect to them and each other as we perform the duty of this office. Also guide us in being worthy of the respect this place deserves. As we prepare for the many weighty decisions that will be put before us, we ask for Your wisdom to help us and Your providential hand to move among us. We are thankful for the troops who have returned home safely; we ask for Your blessings to them as they reunite with 2006-01-23 House Journal Page 2332 their families and loved ones. For our governor and the judges of this state, we ask for Your guidance, protection, and wisdom in their decisions.
