Full Journal pdf2002-06-25 Senate Journal Page 3789 SENATE JOURNAL ALASKA STATE LEGISLATURE TWENTY-SECOND LEGISLATURE THIRD SPECIAL SESSION Juneau, Alaska Tuesday June 25, 2002 Second Day Joint Session in the House Speaker Porter called the House to order and in accordance with Uniform Rule 51 turned the gavel over to President Halford at 3:13 p.m. The purpose of the Joint Session was to consider the Governor's vetoes. The roll of the Senate was called and showed eighteen members present. Senator Davis was excused. Senator Kelly was absent. The roll of the House was taken and showed thirty-eight members present. Representatives Berkowitz, Green were excused. The presence of Senator Kelly was noted. SB 363 Senator Leman moved that CONFERENCE CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 363 "An Act relating to communications and elections, to reporting of contributions and expenditures, and to campaign misconduct in the second degree; relating to disclosure by individuals of contributions to candidates; and providing for an effective date" become law notwithstanding the Governor's veto. Senator Ellis objected. The question being "Shall CONFERENCE CS FOR SENATE BILL NO. 363 become law notwithstanding the Governor's veto?" Senator Leman moved and asked unanimous consent that the Joint Session stand in adjournment. Without objection, President Halford adjourned the Joint Session at 3:45 p.m. 2002-06-25 Senate Journal Page 3791 In the Senate Pursuant to adjournment the Senate was called to order by President Halford at 4:17 p.m. The roll showed fifteen members present. Senator Davis was excused from a call of the Senate. Senators Austerman, Hoffman, Olson, Therriault were absent. The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Senator Cowdery. Senator Ellis moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Dear Heavenly Father, You have revealed in Your word that rule and authority in governments are in keeping with Your divine order. Keep us mindful of the sacred trust that You have committed to our care by using us as officials of our great State of Alaska, to carry out Your plans. Give us wisdom and understanding that we may perform the duties of our offices for the good of our fellow citizens. Grant us Your grace that we may never use our offices to enrich ourselves nor to serve selfish interests. Hear my prayer, and lead us in the paths of righteousness in which You would have us walk for the good of our state and for our namesake. In Jesus' Name. Amen. Senator Donley led the Senate in the Pledge of Allegiance. Senator Leman moved and asked unanimous consent that the journal for the first legislative day of the Third Special Session and Senate Journal Supplement No. 10 be approved as certified by the Secretary.
