The prayer was offered by the Chaplain, Father Rob Bruschi of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Senator Hoffman moved and asked unanimous consent that the prayer be spread. Without objection, it was so ordered. Let us place ourselves in God's presence. O Lord of God, in You we live and move and have our being: We give thanks for those who have offered themselves in service to the people of Alaska, and we ask that You enfold them in the arms of Your love. Protect those they love and those who love them; give them a sense of Your quiet, still, presence and allow them the grace to follow where You have led the way. Holy One of Blessing, You are the very ground of our being and the mountains that surround us echo Your presence. May Your grace filled voice fill this chamber and assure those who serve us of Your loving embrace. Amen.
