     Almighty Creator and loving God,

We stand before You with feelings of happiness and sorrow,
expectation and remorse, pride and regret, anger and love, and
     a hundred other individual emotions.

We look back on the twenty-second session of the Alaska
Legislature with thanks that You placed each of us here, and
so long as we keep that thought in our minds - no, rather, in
our hearts - that You did place us here. Oh, we individually
may have worked hard to convince voters, hard to convince
each other for or against legislation, but You placed us here
with all of our individual warts and biases, ambitions and
ideologies; each knowing we had the right answer for every
question, and finally being humbled into the realization that

guidance from You, we are nothing but space fillers - noisy or
quiet, gifted or average, whatever we appear to each other or
the public - You know us better than we know ourselves.

Lord, we ask forgiveness for our errors against each other and
more importantly against You. We pray, dear Heavenly
Father, please guide each of us individually and as a body that
we would act in a manner that is pleasing in Your sight now,
and the remainder of this session. Amen.
