Dear Lord, we thank You for the grace and mercy                               
that You show us everyday. Your gifts are too                                  
many to mention. Your generosity is beyond                                     
comprehension.                                                                 
                                                                               
Lord, the men and women of this body have been                                
given a great gift of leadership. They have been                               
entrusted with great authority by their fellow                                 
Alaskans. Lord Jesus, in Your Word, You spoke of                               
the final judgment scene. You said that we will be                             
judged on the basis of how we treat the poor, the                              
hungry, the sick, the outcast, those in prison. May                            
the men and women of this Senate conduct their                                 
business so that when they come before Your throne                             
of judgment, they will hear, Well done, good and                               
faithful servant.                                                              
                                                                               
We pray for those people we name in our hearts
